On Friday, January 15th at 9:30, Seth Godin will be doing a 2-hour live talk and book signing for his new book entitled, "Linchpin: Are You Indespensable?" I purchased a group set of tickets, which includes 5 tickets. Myself and my wife (Weddingistas.com) will be going, and I wanted to give away three tickets to my readers. The details about his talk can be found on Seth's Squidoo page here. The details about the free tickets are at the bottom.
The winners have been chosen and notified. Thanks to everyone who participated and all those who helped spread the word!
I love Seth from two standpoints. First, and most dearest to my heart, he's an incredible presenter. He's engaging, interesting, and most of all, knows how to design an effective presentation. He's actually a champion against really bad PowerPoint. He wrote an eBook about really bad PowerPoint (that you REALLY need to download) and he comes up twice on the first page of Google when you search "bad powerpoint." You can see his incredible T.E.D. presentation about standing out below.
Secondly, he's aptly referred to as a "Marketing Guru", and I'm a marketer at heart. He truly get's what marketing is all about. His blog is one of the most popular marketing blogs in the world, and his insights are nothing short of profound.
His talks are usually pretty pricey, running in the hundreds of dollars per ticket. They're also rare. When I heard he was speaking in NYC and for a very reasonable price, I jumped on the chance.
So I've got three tickets I'd like to give away. All you have to do is comment on this post and let me know that you're interested. I'll pick three at random. You'll have to make sure you're on time and meet me prior to the start of the talk (no later than 9:15am). Oh, and you have to be nice...and tell my wife she looks pretty. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing you there!
Oh, and please ReTweet this if you can. Thanks!

I think this may be the first time I've commented below Seth. I echo his sentiments - this is incredibly generous of you to do and offer.
I would love to see Seth speak in person. Regardless of if I do or not, I'm excited about the new book and to get some more of his valuable insights.
And if I were chosen, I would of course be nice and tell your wife she looks lovely.
Good luck to the winners, enjoy the talk Jon and thanks again for being so generous!

I think that hearing Seth in person would be a great experience. This year is about making changes and about reaching your true potential. Hearing and being apart of a group of motivated people is a great way to start the year. I would really be honored to receive the opportunity to attend. Thanks much for this great opportunity for us all. Best of 2010 to you.

Wow! What a great opportunity!
I know that Seth Godin has really influenced the way that I have done business because everything he says makes sense to me on such a practical level. At a time when I was having a good deal of business success, I was being pressured to do things that I wasn't comfortable doing and I found the "Free Gift Inside" book and "Permission Marketing" and his ideas in those books confirmed for me that conventional wisdom and doing what everyone says you should do isn't always the best way to go.
Plus, I have used the Pearl Jam story that he uses in "Permission Marketing" over and over to illustrate how to get communicating with your audience.
So...count me in, I'd love to go.

Wow-this would be an incredible experience. I have a new business and the most often and most highly recommended book has been Seth Godin's Tribes.
Thanks for the opportunity!
p.s. I found this offer via your wife's tweet (she's pretty & talented (; )

I'm flying over to NYC from Switzerland with 2 colleagues of mine and just dying to attend Seth's session on Jan.15th. Unfortunately, the tickets are not available for sale already ((
If I'm chosen - I'll be retweeting you forever! :-))
Jokes aside, I'd really appreciate this opportunity!
